How often should I see the dentist to have dental cleanings done?
At Gasoline Alley Dental, we have a strong belief in preventative dentistry; this means that we like to see our patients at least twice a year for dental cleanings and once a year for a routine dental exam and x-rays and always encourage our patients to brush and floss twice a day. For prevention of future dental issues and maintenance of healthy gums and teeth, the Alberta Dental Association & College recommends visiting your dentist every six months.

We encourage all our patients to follow this standard of dental care by coming to see us twice a year for regular cleanings to keep their gums and teeth healthy and clean and to try to avoid future dental concerns. (Some patients who are managing gum disease may need to be seen more than twice a year for maintenance and cleanings depending on their individual treatment plans and dental needs.)
Of course, if you have any dental issues that arise before you are due for your six-month cleaning or yearly recare exam, please don’t hesitate to give us a call to book an appointment!
