Dr. Whitehead often hears the question from parents as to what age their children should begin seeing the dentist. His answer is always “They can be seen as early as their first tooth or first birthday, whichever comes first!”
Why your child needs to be seen for their first baby tooth
Although it might seem odd to bring your son or daughter in to see the dentist when their teeth are so new and healthy, the purpose of these first visits is to discuss the care and maintenance of tiny teeth and gums with parents so that we can establish a routine of good oral health care from an early age. It is our goal that a good homecare routine including regular brushing and flossing becomes a habit for your child as they grow, which will also help to prevent possible future dental issues.
What is the cost of my child's first visit at Gasoline Alley Dental?
We start our youngest patients off with a no-charge Happy Visit. This is a chance for one and two-year-old kids to sit in the dental chair, meet Dr. Whitehead and our staff, have their teeth counted, explore the dental office a little bit, and just get comfortable with someone other than their parents looking in their mouth. At Gasoline Alley Dental, we love Happy Visits, and we look forward to meeting your son or daughter!
