Your First Visit
What to Expect at your First Visit to Gasoline Alley Dental
Welcome to our patient family! You have decided to give us a try, booked a new patient appointment, and are now wondering what to expect at your first visit to Gasoline Alley Dental. The following description is what happens at a typical first visit appointment at our general dentistry clinic in Red Deer:
Warm Welcome & Check-In
Upon arrival, we ask that you check in with the ladies at the reception desk to fill out your new patient chart or to verify your information if you have already filled it out. If you have dental insurance, it is helpful if you bring your insurance card with you. After your information is verified, feel free to take a peek through the window in the waiting room to our lab to watch some of the dental equipment in action or just have a seat and relax in the waiting room area.
Initial Consultation & X-Rays
After you are checked in, one of our staff members will escort you to the dental operatory area, pointing out features such as the location of patient washrooms, consult room, and x-ray room along the way. Once you are seated in the dental chair, the staff member will discuss your health history and other details pertinent to your dental health and take x-rays and photos as necessary.
Professional Dental Cleaning & Exam in T4E 0A5
If you have a dental cleaning booked as well, the staff member will start the dental cleaning process. If you are scheduled just for an exam, then the staff member will let Dr. Whitehead know you are ready to meet him. Dr. Whitehead will introduce himself to you, perform your dental exam, and discuss the findings of your x-rays and photos and present treatment plan options to you if there are dental needs discovered.
After you have met with Dr. Whitehead and discussed your dental health and treatment plan options as necessary, our staff member will escort you back to the reception area where you will begin the check-out process.
Billing & Scheduling
Our friendly receptionists will direct bill to your insurance provider and set you up with a new appointment for dental treatment if needed or a recare exam appointment, which is for your regular dental cleaning. If you are one of our young patients, don’t forget to pick a prize from the treasure chest!
We are happy you have joined our patient family!
